Strawberry Picking

We went strawberry picking today! It was a gloriously sunny morning. We met Maythi, Reilly, Reese and Maythi's Dad at the strawberry patch. It is such a sweet little place. They have buckets for you to use and employ the honor system for payment in a small tub at their house across the street. The kids had fun. Dillon enjoyed picking up the bad strawberries and throwing them (anything can be thrown!). Bridget carried the bucket and found some great strawberries. We had some on ice cream for dessert tonight and I think we'll make smoothies tomorrow. YUM! A bucket full of fun for only $4. Can't beat it!

Play Date with Megan

Thursday we had a fun playdate with Emily and Megan! The kids enjoyed playing in the sandbox - they tried to all fit...but it didn't work!

Chapel Hill with Grandpa Z

We visited in Chapel Hill with my Dad last Monday. It was a good afternoon - despite the cold weather. We missed going to the playground, but had fun playing inside instead. Bridget, Dillon and I stayed and had dinner with Ashley and Caroline. We will miss being so close!!

Sarah's College Graduation

Sarah graduated from JMU on May 9th!! It seems like just yesterday she was graduating from high school. Time sure does fly. Sarah will be going back to JMU to get her Masters of Education - so there will be another graduation next year. She graduated Magna Cum Laude....such a great accomplishment. We are all so proud of her. Here are some pictures of her, our family and her friends. We had a fun weekend in VA - the weather turned out to be really nice so we could go to the Arboretum on Sunday. Bridget and Dillon loved playing in the grass, and watching the ducks and turtles with their Aunt the new grad!

Bridget climbed the beanstalk!!

Here are the promised pictures of the next time Bridget climbed the beanstalk. We went to the museum to see the creature teacher (she had a hedgehog - we got to pet it!, a tarantula, and a snake). Bridget was so proud of herself for climbing the beanstalk. With every new challenge comes the reward of accomplishment - Bridget and Dillon are growing up so fast!!

Caroline's 1st Birthday

May 2nd was Caroline's 1st birthday party!! May 5th was her actual birthday. I can't believe our sweet niece is already 1 year old. She has changed so much from the little baby of a year ago. The cousins had fun at Caroline's party. It was at the Little Gym with lots of jumping, climbing and "BALLS" (as Dillon would exclaim). It has been so neat to watch Scott and Ashley with their sweet daughter this past year.

Bu-bye old TV, hello new TV

We just got a new TV!!! It's been about 14 years since we've had a new one. You can see Dillon thought the old one was a jungle gym. We're still working on organizing around the new one. But, it's such an amazing difference. Ok - it's actually funny...the channels that we've been able to get HD make me laugh. It looks like a soap opera - but I'll get used to it b/c the picture is a lot better!

Dillon dumped the crayons - and then had the classic 'who me?' expression on his face. And you can see Bridget's awesome drawing skills!!
