We got our tree today.

I know it's in there somewhere!!

Santa

We went to see Santa today. The anticipation was huge, the wait was short, the tears were many. :)
Bridget was excited as we waited in line.
Dillon was not too thrilled....as you can tell. Classic crying kid. :) But, you have to have those pictures right?!
Santa was great with them both. Bridget sat on his lap for a good while and chatted with him about what she'd like for Christmas.

Pictures

So, everyone says that when you have a second you have to make a real effort to make sure you take pictures of them by themselves and not just with the first child. Now I'm thinking I am probably taking more pictures of Dillon than I am of Bridget. Of course, I could just have the camera glued to my hand and take pictures of them all day...just like I wish I could record everything they say and do. I suppose I should remind myself to take lots of pics of BOTH of them - alone and together!!

Dillon got a basketball hoop from Grandma and Grandpa for his birthday. It's a little too tall for him, but today he was holding the basketball and walked over to the hoop wanting to put the ball in it. He has the idea - now he just needs to grow a few inches. Brian held him up and he dropped the ball into the net. What a smarty! I swear he said "Molly" tonight too. He's also loves looking at the fire, holding up his hand and saying "hot." Just yesterday he started saying UH-OH - so now everything gets thrown off his highchair tray and he says UH-OH.

Unfortunately both kids have a cold. I think Bridget is on the mend. Poor Dillon had a bit of a fever today and his cough sounds awful. I hope he feels better tomorrow!

Dillon's Party Weekend

This past weekend we had a birthday party for Dillon. Brian's parents stayed with us for the weekend. My Mom came and stayed with Scott for the weekend. The weekend started with Bridget and I in the Winston Salem Christmas Parade. We were in it with Bridget's dance teacher Miss Pam. I'm waiting on Miss Pam to email me some pics and then I'll post them. We had a lot of fun! Bridget was thrilled to see both her Grandmas, Grandpa, Daddy and Dillon there to wave to her.
Sunday was the party. There was quite a crowd. Everyone was there to celebrate the first year of our amazing boy's life. He's such a fun kiddo! I have a ton of pictures I could post...but instead I'm just posting a few and you can go to the Dec. 2008 month of our picasa link to see more (look to the right for the link).

Dillon's Birthday

Dillon turned one on Dec. 1st. I cannot believe it's been a year. The changes in one year are so amazing. He went from a sweet dark haired baby boy to smiling, laughing, walking, babbling, lighter haired toddler in the wink of an eye. And in another wink he'll be 4 like Bridget and I'll wonder where the time went. I absolutely love watching them both learn and explore their world.
I tried to have my own little photo shoot and got some cute pics of the birthday boy.

Bridget and I baked a birthday cake...here Dillon is attempting to stuff his face.

He's pretty proud of himself.

I'd say that's a mischevious look if I ever saw one.

Thanksgiving 2008

This year we went to Scott and Ashley's for Thanksgiving. My Dad and sister, Sarah, joined us for a 3 day event. We were originally only staying over 1 night and it turned into 2. We had fun
eating too much, watching a movie, shopping, going to the playground, playing Wii and playing a little dominos.
Here Sarah has her arms full - 25lbs of Dillon and 16lbs of Caroline makes for quite a load!

Grandpa had a lapful. The kids thought it was pretty funny to all be on his lap. It didn't last long however. :)
Caroline is teething. What a cutie. She's talking up a storm and trying hard to crawl. She's pulling herself on the floor - she'll have better biceps than me soon.
This was Dillon's first Thanksgiving. He was born the week after Thanksgiving last year. He was pretty happy with our turkey dinner! Aunt Ashley cooked a yummy turkey.

1 yr Checkup

Dillon had his checkup today. He was 25lbs 2oz, and 31inches tall. He's 81% for weight, and 86% for height. The Dr was really impressed with his walking, babbling, eating, sleeping - well, you know, everything! :)

Dillon is ONE!!!

I can't believe it's already been a year! Dillon turned one today. He's getting to be such a big boy - more a toddler than a baby now. He's walking all over the place and trying hard to get faster. We go Wednesday for his 1 year checkup...wonder what his stats will be! Can't wait to find out. I think when you have kids time seems like it's slowing down a bit, but really it's going faster. In the last year, I've seen Bridget blossom from a toddler to a preschooler with a huge imagination, longer hair, a best smile, and a doting big sister. I've seen Dillon go from a sweet baby, to a little boy with an infectious smile, and an awesome curiosity. Life wouldn't be the same without them - in fact not sure I was really living life until they were here.

I'll have some pictures to post from Thanksgiving and Dillon's bday in the next couple of days.

Pow Wow

We went to a pow wow with Bridget's preschool class today. It was a lot of fun! The pow wow was at a farm near school....and what a fun place! Bridget's favorite part was when we danced around the teepee like indians. :)

Here is a picture of Bridget by the teepee (the family who owns the farm made this themselves)

Her class - Daniel, Gracie, Finnlea, Cody, Bridget, Katy, Jon Reed, Wyatt and Mrs. Jefferson.

Dillon went with us and had fun too!

I have to say it's hard to pick pictures to put on the blog. There are just too many!! :) And, they take so long to upload. But, I'm really going to try and keep up with the blog. It's actually kind of fun.
Here are a couple of the cutest cousins ever swinging together on Sunday. We went to Scott and Ashley's for dinner. The kids loved the park!

Uncle Scott was making us go WAY fast! I thought I was going to fall off.
hmm...dirt....
Caroline really liked eating with Bridget. She's getting so big!

PEEK-A-BOO

This is a favorite position lately.

HAHA!!

Little dancer! Here is Bridget during her dance lesson. She does ballet, and tap. She was trying her tap shoes for the first time this past Tuesday. She is going to be in the Winston Salem Christmas Parade on Dec. 6th. She's pretty excited!

Leaves, Leaves, Leaves

The kids were cute playing the leaves on Tues. Bridget helped rake. She made her own little pile and then jumped in it. I had Dillon straped to me until we got the leaves blown and raked into a good pile. Bridget wanted to be completely covered. Dillon wanted to hand me all the leaves. Too cute!

Halloween

Here is the cutest Ariel and Eeyore I've ever seen! They had a lot of fun trick-or-treating. (Actually Dillon slept through most of it)

Dillon

Dillon was born Dec. 1, 2007....11 days early. He managed to stay put longer than his sister! We were all in love from the start, of course. His sister was especially enamoured. I wasn't sure how she'd do, but she is great with him. I love it when she randomly gives Dillon a kiss on the cheek. He is getting into her toys more now, and that is causing some problems - but we are working with Bridget to understand that he's still just a baby.

Dillon was 7lb 8oz when he was born and took off from there - now at 11 1/2 months he's probably close to 24 1/2 lbs! He got his first tooth at 4 1/2 months, sat at 5 months, started eating solids at 6 months, crawled at 8 1/2 months, and walked at 10 1/2 months. Now he only walks and is getting faster! Boy are we in trouble. He loves to stand on Bridget's stepstool in the kitchen...he's so proud of himself. He has quite a bit more hair than Bridget did, and definitely looks like a boy!
