Wkend near Asheville - end of Sept.

We had a really fun weekend in Gerton (20 min south of Asheville) with our friends Tony, Teresa and Will. They live in VA now, but we've tried to see them at least 2x a year. The weather was not so kind on Saturday, but Teresa and I took the kids to the Health Adventure children's museum in Asheville. It was a lot of fun....including a Grossology exhibit. Will, Bridget and Dillon are 'brothers' and 'sister'. They really enjoyed their time together. Will did say he was glad he was an only child b/c he didn't think he could handle a little one like Dillon around all the time. HAHA - He's just not used to so much almost 2 year old energy anymore.
Sunday we went to Chimney Rock state park and had a good hike to the waterfalls, and up to Chimney Rock. We had lunch and ice cream afterwards and then made our way home. It was a good weekend. We're looking forward to planning another trip in the spring.

This week with Dillon.....

Dillon LOVES corn - he demolishes, devours, and thoroughly enjoys it. (yes - he's wearing Bridget's old piglet bib, but he's ok with that).
The new haircut. I said to say 'cheese' - and now you see the goldfish he was eating. Guess Mommy picked the wrong time to say cheese. :)
Today - Dillon fell asleep in the chair...poor guys must have been exhausted - it was only 11:50am!
Fireman Dillon....there is more to this picture, but I nicely cropped it. (Brian wouldn't take it, said it was just wrong...but it was too cute!)
Another say cheese moment - he loves to say cheese. I should take a picture of his happy, sad, mad faces - it's too cute!

Birthday Party

We had fun at Bridget's birthday party this year. It was a garden princess party. Bridget wore a fancy dressup dress and flower headband so she could be a flower princess. I made a Barbie birthday cake (much simpler than I thought it was going to be), and the kids decorated crowns (note to self: glitter glue is messy). Bridget had a lot of fun...thanks to her friends and Aunt Sarah for coming and celebrating with us!!

Birthday Girl - 5 years old!!!

Believe it or not, Bridget is 5 years old!! I know I can't believe it. I remember so vividly when she was born - this tiny little baby. Now she's so tall, so sweet, so smart, so imaginative, so everything. I simply adore her, and so does everyone she meets. Happy Birthday!!
Dillon had to get in on the action - Bridget decided a pink hairbow would be nice. LOL

Silliness

Dillon wanted to wear Bridget's elbow and knee pads - silly guy!
Go Daddy Go - pushups with the kids on his back. (you can see I was getting clothes ready to sell at the clothing exchange!)

Duck Pond (Sept. 5th)

I keep the ends of bread so we can go feed the ducks. The kids love it. The ducks seemed pretty hungry on this day. One even took bread straight from Brian's hand. I love the action shot of Dillon throwing bread to the ducks. Note how long his hair is getting! Doesn't Bridget have the best smile!
