Sick

Thankfully we missed the stomach bug that went around this winter, however we weren't so lucky this time.  2 weeks ago Bridget got the bug and it was not fun...poor girl got sick from around midnight until 5am.  After a couple of days recouperation she was fine.  We thought we were in the clear b/c none of us got it very soon after her, but a week later I had caught by the bug.  Yuck!!  We've had another week free from sickness, so I'm hoping that Brian and Dillon don't catch it.

Truck Day

A local Credit Union had a big truck day. There was an emergency vehicle, a horse tractor trailer, a tractor, an army vehicle, a couple of fire trucks, a police car, a semi, and a Harley.
This inside the Volvo semi truck. It's like a mini camper! There is a drop down bed above their heads.
Dillon said his favorite was the army truck.

Sitting on the fire truck.  The sun was in their eyes.  I told Bridget to close her eyes and I would count to 3 so she could open them.  So, I got this look from her.  :)
With Bridget's friend Grace.
The one and only time they are allowed in the back of a policecar.  (sidenote:  did you know there is barely any leg room back there!  No comfort for criminals!)

Bridget and Izzy

Our cat/kitten Izzy is pregnant. She's normally an outside cat, but we tried bringing her in since I didn't want to leave her outside while pregnant. She LOVES Bridget's bed...so much that Bridget can't sleep. I think she knows that Bridget is her person and wants to cuddle with her. :) However, b/c of this affection and wanting to play at 8pm...Izzy is in the garage for the time being. I'm hoping we can bring her and the kittens upstairs once they arrive. We visit her often down there and have made her several comfy places to sleep.

Easter 2010

Here are my two cuties going down the slide together.

Painting Easter eggs...a fun adventure. We only did a few eggs this year, and Bridget and Dillon did a great job. I love watching the concentration as they work so diligently coloring with the magic crayon, putting the eggs in the dye, and then affixing stickers on them.
Here are our eggs....

Waiting for the Easter Egg Hunt on Easter morning.
I love how Dillon is looking in admiration at Bridget in this picture.

With friends...Xander, Jonas, Claira, Bridget and Dillon.

Our own egg hunt at home....
I asked Dillon to show me what he got...and this is what I got.  Bridget showed a bit more excitement.  :)

PA trip - March 27-31st

We went to PA for half of spring break back in March. It had been a year since we were in Pennsylvania, so it was good to get back up there. We kept busy, going one day to the Crayola Factory in Easton, PA, and one day to the Children's Museum in Philadelphia. The kids had a blast and were - of course - tired out by the end of each day. We spent one day relaxing at Mom's, visiting my Grandmother and having dinner with Alan and Patrick.

Here are pics of our time at the Crayola Factory. What a fun place - we got to try out all kinds of crayola stuff. Above the museum is the National Canal Museum. Bridget and Dillon practiced putting a barge through several canals. The highlight was a fun dance screen - the kids danced and the camera projected their image in colorful ways on a huge screen in front of them. However, I don't have any very good pictures of it to show.
Here are pictures of our time at the Children's Museum.  We went a year ago when we were in PA, and had so much fun, we had to go back again this year.  The Phillies were having their 'kick-off' for the new season and there were a lot of Phanatics in the main entrance area painted by all different groups.  Also, the MadHatter was walking around entertaining the kids.  He sat for a long time and built a house with Bridget....they had it all planned out, it was cute.  Dillon sat with them and then lost sight of me and panicked...but he warmed up to the MadHatter again.

We got lost on our way to the Children's Museum - even with the GPS...b/c we had the wrong address.  It did give us the chance to see some of Philly...in the rain.  Here's one particularly cool thing - a painting on the side of a building.
We visited Grandma.  Have to love Bridget's 'posing'.  LOL

A last picture with Grandma b/4 getting in the car for the long, "ARE WE THERE YET?" ride home.  Seriously, I can't even begin to tell you the # of times Bridget and Dillon said it...but all in all it was a good ride home after a great trip.

March 2010

Bridget's class talked about March coming in like a lamb and going out like a lion...or is it the other way around? Either way, we had a good March, I took a total of 492 pictures! Crazy, I know. Our March highlights were fun playdates, a great Wake basketball game with Dillon, a family trip to Discovery Place in Charlotte (Bridget even got to play hookie from preschool), a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Marshall, Bridget's St. Patrick's Day parade at school, an Easter egg hunt, and a trip to PA to visit Grandma!

Now, how to pick a few pictures to show...hmmm....can't be done.  Here are some...I'll have to work on a collage of our trip to PA.  We went to the Crayola Factory in Easton, PA and the Please Touch Museum in Philly.  We had a great visit!
Here's a just a sampling:
Go Deacs!

Bridget and her friend Grace.

2 Super Heroes! I love Bridget's expression...haha.

Bridget, Grandma and Grandpa racing down the driveway...look at Bridget's hair and all their facial expressions.  :)  We had a great visit!!  The kids are always sad to see Grandma and Grandpa leave.

At the park when Grandma and Grandpa M. were here.

St. Patrick's Day Parade.  Also see the new main picture on top - that was on St. Patrick's Day too.

Everyone wants a piggyback on the way up to bathtime!  Silly guys!

Oh Dillon - so silly!

PA collage to follow in another post...but not tonight.
