KINDERGARTEN!!!

Today was Bridget's first day of Kindergarten!!  She has been so excited, almost hyper for several days.  She had a great time and declared it to be the best day of her life.  :)  She wants to go back tomorrow, the next day, the next day, the next day, etc, etc.  She doesn't actually go again until Monday.  She talked all the way home from the bus stop.  Well...non-stop talking isn't unusual for her, but she was raving about her day all the way home.

Breakfast of champions!
All ready to go.
Walking to the bus stop.
It was kinda early for us.  :)
Getting on the bus for the 1st time!! She hardly looked back. :)

Shadow giants....

We went to the park to feed the ducks (who didn't want to eat the bread....weird!) and go for a walk.  We thought our shadows looked really cool.  So, here's a picture.
Can you guess what Dillon is holding?

Natural Science Center in GSO

Last Friday we had a fun trip to the Natural Science Center in Greensboro with Emily and her children:  Grace, Jackson and Lily.  Bridget and Grace are best friends!  We missed playing with them while we were in NJ, so it was good to catch up.
The science center is a really neat place...part learning museum, and part mini-zoo.  We had a lot of fun seeing the meerkats, petting the sheep and goats, watching the trainer feed the gibbons, hearing the tigers playing and seeing the maned wolves.  Then we went inside to see touch snakes, lizards, and sea urchins, go through a dinosaur maze, see some dinosaur bones and ooh ahh over some gemstones.

Meerkats
Hmm...what's up there?
Feeding the gibbons, and Dempsy the gibbon.
Giant anteater (and I mean giant!)
Maned Wolf (but it looks like a huge fox)
This was a really cool jumping water fountain.
Bridget got to hold a sea urchin!
Hello horseshoe crab...
This 2 headed turtle is 11 years old!

Beach part 2

We had a really good second half to our time at the beach.
We caught a BlueClaws Minor League baseball game (they are a Phillies farm team) - Dillon LOVED it, Bridget thought it was pretty fun...until the 11th inning.  LOL  They lost in the end, but we had a fun time at the game.  Thanks Grandma for the treat!
(this is Bridget's face during the 11th inning.  LOL)
We actually went and fed the seagulls and ducks...usually we do this a lot, but not this year.  In the one picture, I think Dillon was doing his best bird call.  LOL
Bridget has a couple of friends who live in GA, but come for a week in August.  It was fun for her to play with Grace and Taylor again this year.
MORE PADDLE!
Lots of mermaids were made at the beach:
Sarah's friend Caitlin
Bridget
And one that Bridget and I made together.
We had a nice visit with my grandmother, or GG as the kids call her and Aunt Sally.  She was able to come to the shore for a weekend.
Dillon likes to pretend he's the lifeguard.  He pretend whistles and tells the swimmers to move inside the flag.  It's pretty darn cute!
Brian came back on August 8th and we were all glad to see him!!  We were also glad to let him have baseball, football, paddle duty on the beach.  :)  Dillon is a boy of endless sport energy.
Sand is not a problem for Bridget...she loves it, rolls in it, and puts it in her hair much to my dismay at shower time!
We made a trip to Fantasy Island...to see Reptile World. I just can't describe it, you have to see the dry humor of the reptile guy. It's great! The kids went on some rides, and the 4 of us went on the Ferris wheel.  First we had pizza from Bay Village Pizza...the best!  (check out Dillon's face...haha)
We had our annual trip to the lighthouse.  Unfortunately this year it rained on us, but that didn't stop us from going to the windy top of Barnegat Lighthouse!
The original light from Barnegat Lighthouse.
Aunt Sally visited us on our last weekend...it was good to spend some quality time with her.
6 weeks certainly went by very fast...always does!
We love spending time at the beach and relaxing.  Of course, it wouldn't be possible without Mom, her house, and the great help that she and Sarah are with the Bridget and Dillon.  I know I don't thank them enough, so THANK YOU MOM AND SARAH!!
But, we do miss our friends and Brian's family while we are there.  It's good to get home.  Our next adventure is kindergarten...starting in 2 days!!
