A much overdue visit from Grandma and Grandpa! Sept. 2010

We had not seen Brian's parents since June!  We had a much overdue visit from them in September.  We had a great visit...relaxing, picnicking and hiking.

We went to a country store in Rockford, NC.  It was fun and we got some yummy candy for our picnic dessert.
The highlight of Rockford were the 2 outhouses we saw!  The kids thought it was funny.  One of them actually had toilet seats, paper and magazines...I guess it was still used.  (eww)

Bethabara Park Apple Festival September 18th

We finally got to the Bethabara Park Apple Festival this year...seems like there has always been something to prevent us from going in the past.  It was a fun afternoon...playing some old fashioned games, walking around the craft booths, buying apples and listening to folk music.
Our apples and fun apple cider drinks!
Dillon is telling me some story...he's very into telling me details/stories lately!

Air Show Sept. 12

(Jackson, Dillon, Grace and Bridget UNDER an airplane wing)

We had a great time at the Winston Salem Air Show on September 12th.  The kids loved seeing all the planes and helicopters!  Boy, some of those planes can be really loud!!  There were a lot of planes doing some awesome, heart-stopping tricks.
We were lucky to be in the VIP section under a tent enjoying some yummy barbecue thanks to our friends the Stewarts!  Bridget and Grace are best buds from preschool.

It got a little loud sometimes!!
There are too many pictures of airplanes to put on here, and truthfully you don't get the whole idea just from a picture!  But, here's a cool one.  :)

Bridget's 6th Birthday

Hard to believe that 6 years have already gone by since we Bridget made our family more complete!  She has definitely grown a lot in 6 years!  This year has brought many changes:  teeth were lost, inches were added, and school started!!
After many different party ideas, Bridget decided on a Rock Star party.  We had a fun day...even with the rain.  We decided to invite Bridget's whole Kindergarten class b/c her birthday is so early in the year.  Only about half of her class came, but Bridget was really pleased!  It was also a good time for us to meet some other parents.  The party was at Leinbach Park in Winston and thankfully in a covered pavilion.  We did Pin the Pick on the Guitar and Freeze Dance.  I made guitar cakes.  It was a blast!!
Waiting in line for pin the pick on the guitar.

1st day of Dance class

Bridget started ballet/jazz classes again. This time at a new dance studio. It's much smaller and the lesson room actually has mirrors all around!! Bridget had a great first class. There were only 3 girls in the class, so she'll get a lot more/better attention.
