Snow Days

We had a good 7 inch snow last Friday night/Saturday. It was powdery snow, but good for tubing and of course playing! We've enjoyed our 2 real snows this year...it's pretty unheard of down here to get so much snow in one winter.
Snow pictures part 2....these are from Monday and today. We built a snow tower with the top layer and today we built a couple snow people - little Bridget and little Dillon. Could the real Bridget and Dillon get any cuter?!?! We had rain all day yesterday which made for better packing snow for our snow kids.

Here are a few cute pics from January 2010. I have not started the year off well with blogging, but hope to get back on track now that it's February. :)

Dillon colored with crayons and hands are more fun than paper!
They thought it was so funny that they could both ride on the giraffe.
Dillon and his friend Jonas. Funny faces, silly guys!
Bridget and a princess she drew on the chalkboard.

Josh's Eagle Scout

Our nephew, Josh got his Eagle Scout this past summer. Early in January there was a ceremony for the Eagle Scout presentation. We took the opportunity to celebrate Christmas and spend some time with Brian's parents and the Hancock's. We had a fun time. We are very proud of Josh for all that he has accomplished!! He's a freshman this year at UNC Chapel Hill.

Christmas with the Marshall's

We celebrated Christmas with the Marshalls and Hancocks the weekend of Jan 8/9. I realize as I look at these, I didn't take too many pictures when we were opening presents. The 9th was Josh's Eagle Scout Ceremony. I have many more pictures of that - in a post to follow. :)

Mom/Alan visit

Mom and Alan visited at the end of 2009 and helped us ring in 2010. We had a fun afternoon at the playground although it was freezing out! We had fun opening presents and enjoying their company.

New Year's Man

To start the new year the New Year's Man leaves money on the Christmas tree. This is to bring good luck and happiness for the new year. We did this when I was a child and have continued the tradition with the kids. They have fun trying to find the money and it's not always easy. The new year's man tries to keep the money low for little people. Then they divide the money equally and put it in their piggy banks. Mom and Alan were here this year for the New Year's Man's visit.
