future computer guru

Ok - so I don't want my kids glued to the computer as they get older, but I'm pretty sure they will be proficient at it someday. They both like to pretend type while Daddy or Mommy are on the computer.

Dillon's bday party

We had to postpone Dillon's bday party b/c we were supposed to get icy weather. Of course, we didn't. We had his party on Sunday Dec. 13th. It was a small gathering and the kids had fun! The theme was balls - basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, etc! I didn't get a ton of pictures, but here are a few fun ones.

Going glam

Bridget and Dillon dolled themselves up the other day - jewelry, hair clips. Dillon also had Bridget's pink dressup shoes on...hehe.

Family presents

Opening family for Dillon was fun! Christmas is going to be a blast - this boy loves presents. :)

Playing with the new remote control train. He knew what to do right out of the box!

Birthday Boy!

Wow - 2 years old! I cannot believe it's been 2 years since our bundle of energy arrived. How did we ever get along without a little boy in the house? When Dillon was born someone asked me if it was different having a boy....and I said, other than the parts, no. Well, now I'll change that answer to YES! He's all boy, all sport, all rugged, all the time. :) I love that about him just as much as I love the all princess, all singing, all storytelling, all girl that his sister is!
At his 2 year checkup Dillon was 30lb 2oz, and 36 1/2 inches tall. (pretty close to his sister - she was 30lb 8oz, and 35 1/4 inches)
Dillon is changing, learning and growing everyday. His speech is much better - he's even added the S sound - and I can generally understand what he's saying. He loves to sing - Twinkle Twinkle and Itsy Bitsy Spider, along with trying to sing with songs. He loves to read books, play with trains and throw balls. Some favorite phrases/words are: "hear that?", "watch this", "BRIDGET!!", "catch." Dillon definitely looks up to his big sister trying to mimic what she does.
There isn't a day that goes by that we don't laugh, smile, and wonder in awe at this amazing little boy who is our son. I cherish the moments we have right now b/c they are fleeting, and I look forward to the future b/c it is so bright.
Happy Birthday Dillon!

Thanksgiving Wkend

Brian's family was at our house for Thanksgiving. We had a great time all together - playing Wii, card games, taking a walk, celebrating birthdays (Tammy's is Nov. 30 and Dillon's is Dec. 1), going to feed the ducks, and a fun game of Trivial Pursuit (a version from the 80's - I think it's time for an upgrade). Oh, and eating - we had a yummy Thanksgiving dinner. Our group effort in the kitchen paid off, the turkey was yummy and all the fixin's. Bridget and Dillon were so spoiled by all the attention from some of their favorite people. I think we all went into withdrawal after everyone left. :)
We are so thankful that we could all be together, that we are healthy, and are looking forward to a wonderful 2010!
A fun Percy train from Grandma and Grandpa. Dillon is starting to get into the trains - this one is battery powered. You can stop it on the track with a switch. I think that's the highlight of the track for him.
Dillon doesn't quite get that this is a baseball mitt and not a hat. Someday he'll laugh at the picture. I have a feeling he's going to be really good at sports.

Ready for Thanksgiving

Here are Bridget and Dillon wondering when Aunt Tammy, Uncle Jon, Josh and Jake were going to get here. (It wasn't until the kids were in bed)
We visited on the Wed b/4 Thanksgiving with the Hancock family.

We went to Qdoba for lunch - yum!
