Bridget

Here is a quick (how can it be quick, but I'll try) note about Bridget from birth until now.....

I had to go on complete bedrest at 17 1/2 weeks. It was scary time at the start, but we beat all the odds and Bridget stayed put until 34 weeks. She was born 6 weeks early on Sept. 11, 2004. An impressive 5 lbs, and beautiful! She had to be in the hospital for 6 days, just to be sure that everything was ok. Her breathing improved and she came home. Scary at first, but we fell into a good routine and Bridget started to grow and blossom. She changed from a small 5 pounder to a chunky kid. Of course, now she is the perfect 4 year old! :)

Four years have certainly gone by quickly. While by definition a preemie, she didn't stay behind her peers. She started walking at 10 1/2 months and was speaking sentences by 18 months (and you could understand what she was saying!). She continues to amaze us everyday. As our only pride and joy for 3 years and 3 months she got used to being #1, so it's taken some time for her to get used to sharing our attention, but she loves her brother so much.

There is just so much I could write - it would take forever and be a book. Bridget is writing her name, and showing interest in reading. She loves to play pretend with her dolls. She loves the princesses. While she had hoped to be an astronaut one day, her plans have now changed to being a singer. No doubt that will change again. She goes to preschool 3 days a week is quite the social butterfly. (much more than her Mommy)

Here are some pictures of her in the last 4 years:

Wow - some time to myself to catch up on the computer, pictures, friends, emails, etc, etc. Dillon has been sleeping in our bed since he was born. He's so cuddly and lovey and I have truly loved the bonding. But, it's time for him to move into his own crib. :) Tonight I put him in and he hated it, I mean with a passion....but 35 minutes later he's up there sound asleep. YAH! I might miss him later when I go to bed and undoubtely he'll wake up sometime in the next little while...but this is a triumphic start. So, now to uploading pictures.

Here is a picture slideshow from our weekend in Black Mountain, NC with Scott, Ashley and Caroline. We had a fun time. We went to a corn maze/pumpkin patch. We had ice cream in Chimney Rock, and saw my Grandmother. It was really nice and relaxing to get away and spend time with family.

Our Family

I've decided to start a blog of our family. As Dillon approaches a year, and Bridget just turned 4, I thought it would be fun to keep everyone up to date on their milestones, achievements, and general fun!
Bridget is in her 2nd year of preschool and loving it! She has a best friend, Katy in her class. They seem to be inseparable. She has other fun friends at school too, Reilly, Xander, and Claira. She is writing her name, and starting to show interest in reading. She keeps us on our toes playing pretend.
Dillon is starting to take steps, babbling like crazy and fun all around. He's going to get into more trouble than Bridget did!! He loves to climb her stepstool, the stairs, and grab at anything he can. His smile makes my day. :)
Brian and I are having fun trying to keep with our kids. They sure keep us busy.
